Welcome all you rabid gamers out there! Our theme this year is “Press Start to Continue,” acknowledging the huge influence video games have made on our culture over the years. MarsCon Gaming is back online, and delivering exciting events for you! First of all, we’re thrilled to have an Xbox 360 LAN setup in Room 412, so we’re having Video Games a plenty! We’ll have the boxes, we’ll have the TV’s, all we need are the players! We’ll be playing Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Gears of War, and more! Come check out open play, tournaments, and other players to splatter! The fun starts at 3:00 PM on Friday, and goes ‘til we fall over from exhaustion, starting at 10:00 AM the next morning, and ending at 3:00 PM on Sunday. Times and events will be posted. So come for the frags, the kills and more digital domination than you can waggle a Wiimote at!
That's right folks, video gaming will be on the 4th floor, not the 3rd as originally announced.
And for those of you who like role-playing, the action is going to be in Appletree Terrace—the room on the second floor, down the hall towards the parking ramp, right over the pool. There will be lots of open gaming, but here is a schedule of planned events:
Friday, 7:00 PM–11:00 PM “A Time of Darkness” On Nar Shadaa the heroes find themselves caught up an a bit of unfinished Jedi business and a chance to strike a blow for freedom and justice in the galaxy.
Saturday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM “Trouble in New Kala’uun” A cry for help leads the heroes into a desperate battle with an unusual enemy.
Saturday, 2:00 PM–6:00 PM “Explosive Developments” When an enemy of the Empire is accused of murder, it is up to the heroes to clear her name.
Saturday, 7:00 PM–11:00 PM “The Cularin Job” A strange clue provides insight into an old mystery.
Sunday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM “The Errand” A rescue mission leads the heroes to one of the most wretched hives of scum and villainy in the galaxy.
While there are several anime-themed card games on the market, Collateral Damage is the only known anime based board game on the market. In Collateral Damage, you play a Gang Boss trying to take over cities in Neo Japan in order to win the game. Your gang is made up of typical characters from romantic comedy anime, which you move around the board in order to fight your opponents and gain Notoriety. However, as is typical in romantic comedy anime, your characters might fall in love, and will then ignore your orders to instead follow their love around the board.
Collateral Damage: The Anime Board Game is an exciting new board game for 2–6 players. A game runs about 2 hours, and knowledge of anime is not necessary to play. Prizes will be given to all participants and to the winner.
