Hail Eris! To: Eris, Sister of Mars, Goddess of Hotels

You are cordially invited to attend
MarsCon 2006
Things That Go Bump In The Night

We apologize humbly and sincerely for our oversight in neglecting your invitations to the seven prior MarsCons. We hope you will soon forgive us.

Sincerely Yours,
The MarsCon ConCom

Our Hotel, the Holiday Inn Select

It's time to book your rooms!

If you don't book your room by February 16th you won't get the MarsCon special room rate!

For MarsCon VIII we are returning to the Holiday Inn Select by the Mall of America and Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport, the site of our convention in 2003. The hotel is at Three Appletree Square, Bloomington, MN 55425. You can find it easily by going to I-494 & 34th Avenue South in Bloomington.

To reserve a sleeping room at the Holiday Inn Select, call 952-854-9000 or 1-800-HOLIDAY, and make sure to mention "MarsCon" in order to get the reduced rates: $89 + tax for regular rooms, $99 + tax for suites. Taking a room at the hotel is a wonderful way to enhance your convention experience. It gives you a home base, a place to park your stuff, entertain friends, and land whenever you finish with partying throughout the convention weekend...not to mention it makes the host hotel very happy with our multifarious convention.

Parties will be grouped together on the 13th floor, close to the Con Suite and Krushenko's. To reserve a party room, please contact MarsCon directly via mail, email or party room request form. Party room rates are the same as for sleeping rooms.

The Holiday Inn Select offers FREE HIGH SPEED WIRELESS INTERNET in all guest rooms and a full-service health club with a whirlpool spa, sauna, tanning and massage facilities. There is a Junior Olympic sized pool, gift shop, video arcade, business center, full service lounge and an on-site restaurant which offers daily breakfast buffets. Kids 12 and under eat free. Complimentary shuttles are available to transport you to or from the hotel, the mall, and the airport throughout the convention weekend.

For drivers, free parking is available at the hotel. The ramp has low clearance, but there is an open air lot immediately adjacent to it where you may park your over-sized land speeders.

For folks planning to use light rail transit (LRT) to travel to MarsCon, the Hiawatha Line (Route 55) goes right by the Holiday Inn Select. Bloomington Central Station is about a block-and-a-half walk to or from the hotel. Rail fares are the same as local bus fares ($2.00 during rush hours, $1.50 at all other times). No express charges apply. Seniors, youth, Medicare card holders, and people with disabilities qualify for reduced fares during non-rush hours. FFI: 1-800-NEW-RIDER or Metrotransit.org.
