Sample Masquerade Form

MarsCon 2006 Masquerade
Register in Room #1306

  1. Pick up the two page registration form at registration table near the Masquerade Lounge 13th floor.

  2. Read page 1: fill out page 2 (there are separate categories for presentation and workmanship: you can be the one who made the costume, or the one who presented it on stage, or both! The one who models the costume fills out the registration, and submits it.)

  3. Return Masquerade registration (page 2) to the Masquerade Lounge. Registration closes at 4pm Saturday — no exceptions, sorry.

  4. Attend the Masquerade 101 information session Friday evening, 10:30 pm in the Masquerade Lounge. Find out how judges go about judging — get tips on presentation, learn masquerade do’s and don’ts. (You don’t have to wear your costume to this gathering — but DO BRING any music, etc. We can burn them to a CD, which the sound crew will use at rehearsals & show).

  5. Attend the Masquerade rehearsal Saturday Afternoon. 6:00pm through 7:45 Main Stage. If you intend to participate in the Masquerade, this walk-through is mandatory.(It’s just easier on you — and everybody else — if you know what’s going on before you step on stage.)

  6. Attend the Masquerade performance Saturday evening. 8:00-10:00pm.

Enjoy all the attention you will receive after the Masquerade. Linger in the lobby as screaming hordes jostle to take your pictures.

  7. Afterwards, be our special guests at Morticia’s Garden in the Masquerade Lounge 10:30p

Questions? Just ask the Masquerade Director or assistants who can be found in the Masquerade Lounge, Room #1306 at the other end of the hallway from the ConSuite.

Masquerade director: Rae Lundquist a.k.a. The DreamStitcher

Masquerade Registration Form (page 2)

Fill this out at the convention and present in person (do not copy & mail in) Costumes will be judged in two parts; presentation on stage, and costume construction. Participants need not have made their own costumes, but they can't be commercially mass produced. Workmanship awards will go to the person making the costume, rather than the person modeling it. Please list your current address and phone in case we have to mail back any materials, props, etc. Remember, no fireworks, incendiary devices, strobes or flashes, liquids or confetti. No real weapons. (Period). Fake weapons and props will be considered on individual basis.
