MarsCon Masquerade

by Anna Everling, Masquerade Director

As I dust off my wings to get ready for MarsCon Masquerade 2002, I thought I better let you all know whatssuup!

We have Steve McKillen honoring us as Master of Ceremonies again this year, belly dancers for entertainment - and a few surprise judges.

All contestants may register by mail up to February 26, 2002. Email or phone me so I can get a registration packet out to you. My email is 2002masquerade@marscon.org and my phone is 651-688-3158. We will take entry forms at Registration or Ops during MarsCon just prior to the start of rehearsal at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2. If you miss rehearsal and absolutely, positively have to show off your costume in the Masquerade, we will accept late entries until 4:00 p.m. Saturday. However, understand that you will have missed rehearsal and we will provide some background music for you. The Masquerade begins at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

We have two age levels for our Masquerade -- Adult (13+) and Child (up to 12). All children who enter will be assured of a prize. The adults will have to slug it out among themselves, err, compete for one of our unique trophies.

If you would rather volunteer to help in the Masquerade, I will be having a planning meeting Friday, January 18, 7:00 at my house. Please call me for directions or to let me know you are attending.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Remember, you don't need to have an expensive or elaborate costume to enter, sometimes it's all about attitude, baby! Hope to see you on stage!
