Happy holidays, all!

This is a great time for Mars fans! We're all very excited about the progress of the Mars Polar Lander, landing on the red planet this very month!! -- and we're eagerly anticipating news of the several films about Mars which are currently in production. On the home front, we're busily preparing for MarsCon 2000 and striving to keep you up to date on the latest developments...

BREAKING NEWS!! - Our first Progress Report for MarsCon 2000 is now available for download as a .pdf file directly from the first page of our web site at: http://www.marscon.com. You'll need Acrobat Reader (free) from Adobe to read/print it. A link to Adobe is also provided on our web site. Let us know if you would like a print copy mailed to you or if you would prefer a .pdf file sent directly to your e-mail.

ANNOUNCING TWO MORE GUESTS OF HONOR...
Another MEDIA GUEST OF HONOR coming to MarsCon 2000 is LISA M. GETTO who has worked on Deep Space 9, Babylon 5, Crusade, X-Files, Profiler, and many, many other Films and TV shows. She's from Wisconsin and glad to be coming back to the midwest to be at MarsCon! Check out her web site at http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/8104/index.html.

Our ARTIST GUEST OF HONOR for MarsCon 2000 will be DENISE BOIE! Denise is a local artist whose fantasy art has been seen at many other conventions throughout the U.S. We welcome her to MarsCon 2000!

CALL FOR ARTWORK! - MarsCon needs artwork for con T-shirts, Volunteer T-shirts, badge art, publications, etc... Now's the time to sharpen those pencils, dust off that mouse and get to work! All art must be submitted in camera-ready form by March 1, 2000. The artists whose work is selected will be praised in our Program Book and provided with gratis copies of the final printed form for their portfolios. Please contact us through our P.O. Box or at communications@marscon.com if you have questions.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD FEN - Yes, we need volunteers! No volunteer-run convention can happen without volunteers. One hour, one day, or whatever time and talents you have to offer will be appreciated. Volunteer for the fun, volunteer to contribute to fandom, or volunteer for the perks (free buttons, free t-shirts, discounts, etc...)-- doesn't matter to us, just volunteer! Send us a Volunteer Form, or contact us at volunteers@marscon.com, or write us at our P.O. Box. You WILL be contacted!

RATE INCREASE APPROACHING - Just in case you or a friend have not sent in your registration forms yet, here's a reminder. The registration rates go up January 1st, 2000, so please register now if you would like to get the lower rates. Registration forms are available at many area comic stores and book stores. They may also be found on our web site, and we are happy to send you registration forms via snail mail as well. Just let us know if you need them.
