MarsCon 2013 Masquerade Lounge

Calling all costumers (and those that would like to be):

The MarsCon Masquerade Lounge wants you for panels, demos, exhibitions, and general “How did you DO that?” workshops?

The MarsCon Masquerade Lounge programming track is quickly gaining a reputation for being the con in the Midwest for costume related programming; some 20+ hours of basic and advanced costuming tips, tricks, and demos… but there’s more…

We don’t just stop at costuming. We go on to “The Care and Feeding of Wigs and Hair” (traditional and anime styles), prop making (including wings, etc.) Basic Make-up 101, and more. Want to learn about El wire and lighting up your costume? Want an intro to “wonderflex”? Find out how to take a concept/picture from beginning to complete costume? Want to learn some tips and tricks of being on stage?

YOU COME TO THE MARSCON MASQUERADE LOUNGE! Because that’s where you can find out. We are all about helping you become the best costumer/cosplayer you can be!

If there is a special costume related panel you’d like to see, then contact us with your suggestions. Even better, if you’d like to share your knowledge of props… costumes… whatever!… then please contact us too!

We also want to hear from you if you’ve ever won BEST OF SHOW at previous MarsCon Masquerade contests. We are in the process of creating the Masquerade Lounge, Wall of Fame with framed pictures of previous winners. However, we can’t do this without your help (records from previous years are incomplete, and we don’t have the names/pictures of all the winners). Do contact us, and, even better, send us a picture of you in your award winning costume. Don’t forget your full name, name of your character, and the year. We want to show you off!

If you are need more info about the Masquerade contest itself, please contact Bill Hedrick. But if you want to request a panel, or volunteeer for one, or just want to help out in the Lounge, please contact me, Rae Lundquist (also known as the DreamStitcher).

Can’t wait to hear from you!
