5 pm Friday - 5 pm Sunday

There will be 24-hour Open Gaming in Apple Terrace (2nd floor) throughout MarsCon. Apple Terrace will also have most of the scheduled events as well, but there will always be room in there for open gaming.

Friday Events

5 pm – Midnight Open Gaming (Staffed)

Staff will be available until midnight. This area will be open during the duration of the convention. There will be a game library available during staff hours, but feel free to bring your own copy of your favorite game to share and enjoy with others.
Location: Open Gaming (Exec Conference Room, 2nd floor)

5 pm – 1 am Console Gaming

This room will be open to all who love video games! Available consoles are: Nintendo Wii, PS3, and X-Box 360. Various games avail such as: Mario Party, Guitar Hero (various titles), Street Fighter (various titles), Soul Calibur IV, Marvel vs Capcom 2 & 3, Call of Duty (various titles), Halo (various titles), and more!

5 pm – 7 pm Magic the Gathering: Quantum Leap

Casual format. 6 players max. Uses combination of Vanguard cards and Planechase deck for free-for-all Magic fun. Check website for rules (www.tcgamefest.com) or see judge the day of the event. Required materials: please bring your own Legacy format deck (60 card minimum, no sideboard).
Location: Scheduled Game Hall (Apple Terrace, 2nd floor)

5 pm – Midnight Magic the Gathering: Draft

Official sanctioned tournament. 16 players max. Required materials: please bring 3 unopened packs of most current format (vendors will have supply of packs in vendor hall). A limited supply of basic lands will be provided. If you have them, please bring your own.
Location: Schedule Game Hall (Apple Terrace, 2nd floor)

5 pm – 11 pm Arkham Horror

Board game. 8 players max. Board game based on the gothic horror world of H. P. Lovecraft. Work with your teammates against the board game to defeat the horror that is Cthulhu!

8 pm – 9 pm Magic the Gathering: Archenemy

Casual format. 4 players max. New multiplayer format that pits three players against one. The Archenemy uses an extra deck to activate diabolical plots to destroy his enemy. Required materials: please bring your own Legacy format deck (60 card minimum, no sideboard).
Location: Scheduled Game Hall (Apple Terrace, 2nd floor)

10 pm – 11 pm Magic the Gathering: Archenemy

Board game. 4 players max. Build and direct armies in this board game from Fantasy Flight Games. Choose your general, and your faction. Battle it out until only one army (or team) is the victor!

10 am – 4 pm Magic the Gathering: Legacy Constructed

Officially sanctioned tournament. 16 players max. Required materials: please bring your own Legacy format deck (60 card minimum + optional 15 card sideboard). Please check www.wizards.com for current legal cards for deck, or see judge the day of the tournament.
Location: Scheduled Game Hall (Apple Terrace, 2nd floor)

Board Game. 5 players max. This board game has you building your farm by planting crops, raising animals, and building a family in this fun resource game. Many variants to choose from.

3 pm – 4 pm Magic the Gathering: Archenemy

5 pm – 8 pm Magic the Gathering: Elder Dragon Highlander (EDH)

Casual format. 8 players max. Also known as ‘Commander’. Required materials: please bring your own EDH format deck. (99 cards, only 1 copy of any card except basic lands, 1 general, no sideboard).

5 pm – 8 pm Settlers of Catan (with Seafarers, and Cities & Knights expansions)

Board game. 6 players max. This famous Mayfair game of trading and building will have everyone competing to be the Defender of Catan.

5 pm – Midnight Magic the Gathering: Draft (FREE!!!)

This event will have packs provided, as well as pack prizes. Free raffle tickets to determine limited seating can be picked up at the scheduled gaming hall until 3:45 PM Saturday. Drawing will be at 4:00 PM. You must be present to win seat. Official sanctioned tournament. 16 players max. A limited supply of basic lands will be provided. If you have them, please bring your own.

8:30 pm – 11pm Robo Rally

Board game. 8 players max. Battle your robots in the Arena of Doom! Blast, push, and trundle your way to victory as you program your robot against the clock. First one to tag all of the flags wins, but you also win if you are the last one standing!

9 pm – Midnight Magic the Gathering: Quantum War

Casual format. 7 players max. Uses combination of Quantum Leap, Emperor and Archenemy formats. Check website for rules (www.tcgamefest.com) or see judge the day of the event. Required materials: please bring your own Legacy format deck (60 card minimum, no sideboard).

Non-collectible card game. 8 players max. Join an exciting adventure where you level up your character in a party of fellow adventurers. Don’t feel back about stabbing them in the back though! In this riotous game from Steve Jackson Games, you play all kinds of classes and races to explore the dungeon and reach the coveted LEVEL 10 first!
