Greetings, Mars Fans!

MarsCon is only two months away, and planning has switched into high gear in preparation for the event. Progress Report #2 has been sent to everyone on our mailing list, and it will soon be available via the web site as well. Now is the time to start thinking about registering and reserving your hotel rooms if you or your friends haven't done so, as our next rate increase happens on April 17th! Very soon.

T-SHIRT/BADGE/PUBLICATIONS ARTWORK - We will be selecting artwork for con T-shirts, Volunteer T-shirts, badge art, publications, etc... at the March ConCom Meeting. Thank you to everyone who submitted artwork already and to everyone planning to bring artwork to the meeting!

Our Artist Guest of Honor Denise Boie has designed the cover art for our Program Book -- the best word to describe it is WOW! Denise plans to auction off the original painting at the Art Auction which happens on Sunday afternoon during the convention.

PROGRAMMING UPDATE - There is a preliminary programming schedule on our web site now at http://www.marscon.com/m2k/program.html. Please feel free to browse, but remember there will be some changes to this list of events prior to the convention.

If you wanted to be a presenter, and you don't see your name listed on the schedule, tell Nina or Christine asap. They can be reached via e-mail at programming@marscon.com, or by phone at 651.224.4060 or 651.774.9542. If you are a scheduled presenter, but you see a conflict in the time you are scheduled, also let Nina or Christine know. We will attempt to modify the on-line programming grid as changes occur. MARSCON & VOLUNTEERS - Yes, we need volunteers! No volunteer-run convention can happen without volunteers. One hour, one day, or whatever time and talents you have to offer will be appreciated. Volunteer for the fun, volunteer to contribute to fandom, or volunteer for the perks (free buttons, free t-shirts, discounts, etc...) -- doesn't matter to us, just volunteer! CONCOM MEETING INVITATION - Our next ConCom Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, March 19, 2000, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Anoka County / Northtown Central Library located in Blaine, Minnesota. Please come if you can. This meeting is open to everyone, and we encourage you to attend and become more involved in planning MarsCon 2000.
