The Hilton is mostly accessible by mass transit... it’s about 4/10ths of a mile from the American Blvd LRT stop. There are also shuttles to the LRT stop, the airport, and the Mall of America. If you have trouble walking (perhaps due to luggage or snow) the best transit option is probably bus or train to MoA, then take the hotel shuttle.

Parking

Parking at MarsCon may be difficult but doable. We are currently working with Hotel on a plan for overflow parking. Please watch this space for updates. Do not park in Crowne Plaza’s ramp; you will risk a ticket or tow. Carpooling is a good idea, as are cab/Uber/Lyft. Or... ride the LRT and hike.

Hey You, Get A Room!

Having your own room gives you site to store your stuff, a place to park your paraphernalia, a closet to contain your costumes, and somewhere to sleep. Sleeping sometime over the weekend is a good idea, and less travel time over the weekend gives you more time to be at the con. You can book a room by calling the Hilton - you know, on a phone - and requesting the MarsCon Block Rate. Alternatively, you may use the Hilton online booking system at www.hilton.com/en/hi/groups/personalized/M/MSPAHHF-MAR-20200227/index.jhtml. The room rate is the same as last year - $115/night plus taxes. The deadline for this rate is February 6.

Travel Tips

At the risk of repeating ourselves, we recommend carpooling or mass transit to reach MarsCon. But if you do drive and find the Hilton parking lot is full, there will be overflow parking (to be announced).

Midevil MarsCon

MarsCon is a fan-run science fiction convention for all ages held every March (sometimes in late February) in the Twin Cities area. At MarsCon you’ll find panel discussions, parties, guest of honor presentations, music of many kinds, our art show, film/anime room, science room, dealers room, charity auction, and masquerade. The Dementia track is virtually a con in itself, and attracts a nation-wide audience.
