November 2000Hello, All! Hope your Halloween was groovy and hope Thanksgiving is even better. It was great partying with folks at the 1st Millennial Munchcon / Relaxacon. Thank you to Rick Gellman and our other gracious hosts there. Karaoke was especially fun. Thanks, Ben, for bringing your magical machine. Btw, the green cake was oo-la-la, need we say more, incredible!!! Now that this intense election year is grinding to a halt, it's about the right time for another party, so with that in mind, here's a... Pool Party Invitation - MarsCon's next planning meeting at the Radisson South (November 19th) will be a mailing party & pool party! We will be folding and collating the first MarsCon Progress Report for "2001:A Space Oddity." Bring your swim suits along, because afterwards we get to relax in the hot tub, pool & party cabana. Thank you, Radisson South!!! Come party with us. The more volunteers we get for the PR#1 folding, the faster the job gets done, and the sooner we can all party!! Programming / Events / Entertainment at MarsCon - Programming is the scheduled fun stuff or events that go into the program book for the convention. It can include facilitated discussions, performances, demonstrations, and contests. Its content is limited only by space, law, and the number and variety of people who sign up to do it. There are many fine & fun ideas for Programming at this point, but we could always use more. If you have an idea for a panel discussion or event which you'd like to see at MarsCon, don't be shy. Contact MarsCon Programming via one of the methods listed below, and tell us about your idea. We would love to hear from you. Pre-Register and Save $$ - In case you or your friends haven't registered yet for MarsCon 2001, here's some news from the Registration Department. You may now pre-register for MarsCon using a Visa or Master Card through Pay Pal via our web site. Try this link for more details. As always, we are very happy to accept registrations by mail as well. Let us know if you need forms, and we will send them to you. Flyers may also be found in many area comics, gaming & book stores. Registration rates will be increasing after December 31st, so we encourage everyone to pre-register before that date to save $$. Registration rates are currently $25 for adults; $15 for kids ages 6-12. Update: The deadline for our $25 pre-registration rate has been changed to January 31, 2001. Upcoming Meetings - Here are dates & times for upcoming meetings. ConCom Meetings are held on Sunday afternoons at the Radisson South Hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota, the same place where the convention is held. Follow this link for a map and other info about the Radisson South. ConCom meetings are open to the public, and you are welcome to attend whether as a spectator or a participant in planning the convention. The more the merrier!
Hope to see you there! (See contact info at the bottom of this page.) |
