Here’s Where You’ll Find Stuff...
On the First Floor you’ll find:

Master Control (Meadows - near the grand staircase)
Master Control is MarsCon’s command center through the con. Master Control can (try to) answer your questions and resolve issues small and large.

The Penthouse / Art Show (Riverside)
View SF- and Fantasy-themed art by our Artist Guest of Honor and other talented artists. Buy or bid on art to take home!

Bat Cave / Science Room (Woodlands)
“Where does he get those wonderful toys?” The Bat Cave is hidden behind Hotel’s front desk, and it is well-worth discovering. Come and see how we are transforming science fiction to science fact. View and interact with science exhibits—models, maps and science demos!
The Second Floor is our main programming area:

The Ballroom / Mainstage (Ballrooms III/IV)
Ballroom is the place for big events such as Opening & Closing Ceremonies, Masquerade Cosplay, concerts, stage performances and musical jams!

Back Room Bazaar / Dealers’ Room (Ballrooms I/II)
Here is where you’ll be able to buy all manner of swag: things to read/hear/view, things to wear, things to decorate your manor, things to give to friends, souvenirs of MarsCon.

Makers’ Market with more things to buy is located just outside the Ballroom, so make sure to stop by the artists there and grab an autograph or two from our wonderful Guests!

The Cabaret (Exec Conference Room)
This room will serve as a karaoke room in the evenings, and may feature Guest speaker events, dance, simulated combat, and music-related events throughout the weekend.

Masquerade Lounge (I - Blue Heron Colony)
Nothing sparks intrigue like a good disguise, and what better place than at a Masquerade? Expect to find costume related panels, demos and discussions. Masquerade Lounge will also serve as the Green Room during the Masquerade Cosplay Contest on Saturday night.

The Lair (II - Cardinal Perch)
The Lair will feature miscellaneous programming, i.e., hard sciences discussions, talks about our favorite sci-fi/fantasy movies and television series, gaming, Klingons, music, and as many other fannish topics as we can fit into the space.

The Library (III - Eagle’s Next)
The Library will focus mainly on literary discussions and readings, but there may be a touch of art and other SF media, as well as speculative science.

Spy Games 2 / Roleplaying Games (IV - Hawk’s Ridge)
Spy Games 2 will play host to roleplaying games throughout the weekend.

The Lab (V - Mallard Point)
This room will feature constructive and creative activities. Ideal for anyone who enjoys hands-on activities.

Spy Classroom (VI - Owl Overlook)
This is a place for discussions about anime, young adult fiction and other topics of interest to young fans. The room will also feature a few anime showings.

Q Branch / Prop-a-Torium (VII - White Pelican Bay)
Dedicated to the fictional research and development branch of the British Secret Service charged with oversight of top secret field technologies, this room will host an extraordinary display of some of the most unusual and fabulous handmade and collected props.

Spy Games 1 / Gaming (VIII - Wood Duck Pond)
Scheduled and open gaming.

1200 - Na’nam / Con Suite
Relax. Converse. Find snacks. Con Suite is where you will find assorted snacks throughout the convention. Hours will depend upon availability and energy of volunteers, but we plan to open early for coffee lovers and close late for the pleasure of our night owls. Please pitch in to keep Con Suite tidy and open longer. Many thanks to volunteers!

Captain Kirk’s House of Ill-Repute returns to MarsCon! Join us at Valleycon 49 in Fargo, ND, on October 18-20! Guests include: Gigi Edgly and Rachel Skarsten.

1204 - Costumer’s Conclave
(Hosted by The DreamStitcher/Rae Lundquist)
Do you like costumes? Do you LOVE costumes? Do you LOVE talking about costumes. Then the “Costumer’s Conclave” party room is where you want to be! Tea to sip, cookies to nibble, and costumes on display. Come chat about your favorite “Frock Flick”, discuss “How I Did This!” while showing off your own creations. Or just sit and listen while experienced costumers explain their favorite film and theater costumes.
Party hours: Friday from 8pm to 1am, Saturday after the Masquerade contest (probably around 10pm to 1am)

1205 - Krushenko’s Lounge
Krushenko’s is a space that encourages conversation about science fiction and fantasy at SF conventions. Krushenko’s, named after a Manhattan bistro in Larry Niven’s novel Ringworld, started at the 1983 Minicon, and now also travels to Diversicon in the Twin Cities and WisCon in Madison. A regular feature of MarsCon since 1999, Krushenko’s this year serves up SF-related parties in the evenings. Krushenko’s is accustomed to serving alien guests!

The Big Lebowski themed. Our room really ties the con together.

1212 - Anime Fusion Party
Your October anime convention is bringing you an early Halloween! Whether you’re just getting into anime or haven’t dusted off those old VHS tapes in years, there’s a place for you at Anime Fusion. Stop in, watch some spooky anime, and let us grill you a cheese!
Party hours: 7pm-12am (midnight) both Friday and Saturday

Who left this dead body lying around? The IKV RakeHell’s Klingon Detective Agency needs witnesses to come forward and examine an array of tasty clues.

1214 - Minicon: Next Gen
Minicon is Minnesota's longest-running science fiction convention, held every year on Easter weekend in or near Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Executive Lounge- Snarky’s Royale / Volunteer Lounge
Snarky’s provides nutritious food and snacks for Guests of Honor and people who help run our MarsCon convention and fund the room. None of the food in Snarky’s is paid for out of the MarsCon budget. Not a Snarky’s member yet? Well…if you volunteer for 5+ hours during the convention, you can eat one meal in Snarky’s and give it a try. Please ask about it at our Volunteer table near Registration.

Sing karaoke from a list of over 7,500 songs and enjoy a tasty snack!

Learn about Furries and get ready for Furry Migration in September.
