“Invasion!“ might sound a little threatening as a theme – Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Space Invaders – but it can also be a positive thing. British invasion, anyone? For our eleventh MarsCon, fans of science fiction and fantasy will be invading Bloomington’s Holiday Inn Select from March 6-8, 2009.
Our staff welcomes all invaders. We are a group experienced in running a variety of shows, from small local to large regional conventions.

The Display Room
This year our annual hotel relocation has brought us back to the Holiday Inn Select in Bloomington, Minnesota. Sound familiar? It should – that's where we were for 2006, 2007 and 2008!
Guests of Honor!!!
Yes, we have 2 Guests of Honor; the husband & wife team of Scott Rosema & Suzanne Hiza-Rosema!!!
Scott has a diverse background in a variety of places, including: Tiny Toons comics, TSR paintings, trading cards, and merchandising for Batman: The Animated Series. Other comics include: Space Ghost, Looney Tunes, Johnny Quest, Scooby Doo, Dexter’s Laboratory, Small Soldiers, Prince of Egypt, and others.
Suzanne is a master of glasswork, from stained glass windows for churches to small window hangings, to sculptures based on comic book art. Her trinket boxes and jewelry have a wonderful SF flair to them – whimsical winged cats, curling dragons, and powerful wizards.
MarsCon Artists’ Reception:
9:00 p.m. Friday, March 6th, 2009
Join us for the 5th year of this great tradition! All artists and fans of the Art Show are invited to join us for a lovely, relaxed evening with the Rosema’s and all the resident local artists who contribute to our Art Show. There will be no formal tour, just a chance to preview the art, drink wine, and eat crackers with cheese. Find out what inspires and drives our artists while surrounded by their own art in our gallery-like setting.

If you didn't participate in MarsCon 2008 but plan to in 2009, you can still get on our mailing list.
If you would like the forms mailed to you, please send a request with your mailing address to art.
If you are currently receiving mail, and would like to receive an electronic-only version of future mailings, and we’ll be happy to oblige! Just send a note to the same address, art, telling us you wish to opt-out of paper mailings.
Finally, to ensure that all of the art is received smoothly, we are requesting all artists sending in art to ship it directly to the hotel (The address is below!). If you include a pre-printed FedEx or UPS label in your package, we can return your art to you the moment the show is complete!
