For the many who recently registered for MarsCon, thank you for your early support! Thanks also to everyone who partied with us recently at JVL-Con, Valleycon, Windycon, and TARDIS Con! Below are a few timely announcements about upcoming events this weekend, and some general information about MarsCon.


SHOCKWAVE & THE NICK ATOMS A GO-GO!

The Nick Atoms, MarsCon's favorite Sci-Fi theme song band are at it again! November 29th will be a great day to be a The Nick Atoms fan and a Go-Go Dancer! But wait! Who are The Nick Atoms? I mean, what do you REALLY know about them? The answers will be told on Saturday, November 29th at 3:30 P.M. on The Shockwave Radio Program! Tune in to the radio on KFAI 90.3 FM in Minneapolis or 106.7 FM St. Paul Minnesota where MARSCON guest Dave E Romm will interview The Nick Atoms! Find out all sorts of juicy information! Hear songs that will never see the light of day! But most of all, get a little smarter about the world around you...

An actual Go-Go dancing contest will happen, with prizes, so ladies, get your dancing boots out and get ready to Go-Go! But that's not all! Be part of an actual movie! Ted V. Mikels will be filming scenes and anyone and everyone who comes to the show will have a chance to be in it! And you get to see the classic film 'Girl In Gold Boots!' OTHER SF NEWS - RETURNING TV SERIES

Savefarscape.com recently confirmed that the rumors are true, FARSCAPE will be returning to television as a 4 hour mini-series. Take a bow Scapers, you did it! (FFI: www.Savefarscape.com)

Returning after an even longer hiatus will be the classic British SF series, DOCTOR WHO. The series recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, and it will return to BBC One in 2005 as a new live-action series, written by Russell T. Davies.


MARSCON BASICS

MarsCon is an annual science fiction & fantasy convention sponsored by FenSF, Inc., and run completely by volunteers. Our theme for MarsCon 2004 is "Let's Play Doctor!" Guests of Honor will include Dr. Demento, Richard Biggs, John M. Ford, Davina, Baron David E Romm, and the great Luke Ski! The convention takes place March 5 - 7 at the Airport Hilton in Bloomington, Minnesota. Convention activities include concerts, panel discussions, parties, gaming, science & art exhibits, specialty vendors, movies, singing, dancing and more. It's a great time.

To register for MarsCon, simply mail in a registration form along with your payment to this address: MarsCon, P.O. Box 21213, Eagan, MN 55121. Registration forms may be found at many local conventions, at comic/gaming supplies stores, or on the web, OR you can register on-line using PayPal.

To reserve your room for MarsCon 2004, call the Airport Hilton at 952-854-2100. (Very Important: Please mention "MarsCon" when you call or you will be charged more for your room.) Sleeping room rates for MarsCon are $99 per night + tax.

To request and reserve a party room, check out our Party Room Request Form or contact us via any of the methods listed below. Party rooms are $119 per night + tax.


NEXT MARSCON 2004 PLANNING MEETINGS

Meetings are generally on the third Sunday of each month, 1:00-4:00 p.m. If last minute changes occur, details will be posted to the MarsCon website prior to any scheduled meeting. You are welcome to attend MarsCon meetings as a volunteer or spectator. It's a great way to get to know the committee and hear about upcoming events. The next planning meeting is scheduled for December 14, 2003 (not the 3rd Sunday!), at the Southdale Library, 7001 York Ave, Edina, MN.
