Mars Today - May 2004

Sad News

We at MarsCon are very sad to report that the rumors are now confirmed. Our guest of honor Richard Biggs unexpectedly passed away this weekend, May 22, 2004, at age 43. Rick was one of the main reasons MarsCon had its largest attendance ever last March, nearly 800 attendees. He was enthusiastic and energetic, a consummate performer, and a great comedian. We are all in deep shock. We loved having the opportunity to get to know him at the convention, and we will miss him. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and close friends.

A special section has been set up on Patricia Tallman's site "The Galactic Gateway" (http://www.thegalacticgateway.com/) for persons wishing to leave a message for Rick's family via the Internet.
