Captain's Log, Stardate 2005.03.02
We experienced a bit of turbulence early on this week causing a few things to shift in places, but we will have clear seas from now until MarsCon. Here is a quick update and some last minute details for ye:
We are in the Minneapolis Airport Marriott this year, just off I-494 & 24th Avenue South, Bloomington, Minnesota. Street address is 2020 American Blvd East. See: marscon.org/2005/hotel/index.html. To call the hotel, dial 952-854-7440.
Mutiny! Several of our parties have taken over new rooms at the hotel only this week! A new parties map is posted at marscon.org/2005/hotel/parties.html. Some say it was the hotel, or possibly a twisted version of Fruit Basket Upset, but others share a different view. . . P-a-r-t-i-e-s vs. P-i-r-a-t-e-s? Suspiciously similar. You be the judge.

Go for launch! Rocket Man has been confirmed. An updated, probably-nearly-close-to-almost-definitely-finalized program schedule is available at: marscon.org/2005/programming/schedule.html.
Full weekend passes are available at the door: Teens-Adults $55, Children (6-12) $25. Day passes are also available: Teens-Adults $20 Fri/Sun-only or $30 Sat-only; Children (6-12) $10 Fri/Sun-only or $15 Sat-only; Children under 6 get in free. Please remember we will not be equipped to accept credit cards at the door.
There are many ways to contribute to good causes at MarsCon this year. We will be accepting food shelf donations which will be delivered to the St. Paul Second Harvest Food Shelf. Donations of gently used household goods and clothing for the Standing Rock Reservation may be dropped off at designated tables in our Main Games room. There will be tabling to raise money for Richard Biggs Children Fund. USS Nokomis club will be holding a "Walk the Plank for Charity" event to raise funds for Standing Rock Reservation. Donations of auctionable items may be delivered to display tables set up in the Main Deck/Main Stage room. They will be auctioned on Sunday to benefit Standing Rock Reservation and the Gordy Dickson Memorial Scholarship Fund. Thank you for your generous contributions!
Are you planning to drive a long distance to MarsCon with a couple empty seats? Do you want to find a quarter of a room to sleep in? A party room to share with another group?
