MarsCon is an annual science fiction & fantasy convention sponsored by FenSF, Inc., and run completely by volunteers. We will be celebrating our tenth annual MarsCon at the Holiday Inn Select in Bloomington, Minnesota, on the weekend of February 29-March 2, 2008. Our theme is “Press Start to Continue,” and our Guests of Honor include:

We are brimming with programming, but there is still a little room for more. The programming schedule is being posted online at: /marscon.org/ten/programming/schedule.php.
Please take a look and see if there are any events you wish to join as a presenter. As always, updates will be happening all the way until the convention, so keep your eyes on the schedule as it evolves.
The MarsCon pre-registration rates increase on 1/31/08. Save your dough for Dealers Room and Art Show by registering now. Current rates are $45 for adults, $20 for children (ages 6-12). Mailed in registrations will qualify for the lower rates if postmarked 1/31/08. You may also register online.
To reserve a sleeping room for MarsCon 2008, call 952-854-9000, and make sure to mention “MarsCon” in order to get the reduced rate. The room rates will be the same as last year, $89 + tax for a regular room and $99 + tax for suites. Parties will be grouped together on the 13th floor, close to the Con Suite and Krushenko’s. Smoking parties will be on 12th floor.
Planned parties include: IKV Rakehell, World Defense Force, Arcana, MISFITS/CONvergence, Diversicon, Tales of the Unanticipated/Second Foundation, Henna Party, NoBrandCon Spies and Secret Agents, Cosmic Tulip Lounge, Admiral’s Tea Party, Dementia Radio, MN Firefly Serenity Galley, MCTC Sci Fi & Fantasy Club Comic Book Cave, Tardis Tea Society, and Valleycon.

MarsCon does not just happen - your hard working convention committee meets regularly through the year scheming ... er, ‘planning’ ... next year’s con. Anyone who has an interest in what will occur at MarsCon is welcome to attend these meetings, and attending is a great way to influence what will happen at the con. All meetings are at the Holiday Inn Select, 3 Appletree Square, Bloomington, MN. Look at the hotel events schedule once you arrive at the Holiday Inn to see which room they’ve saved for us on that date. Our last two planning meetings will take place on Sunday, February 3, 1-4pm, and Sunday, February 17, 1-4pm. Join us!
